Glass Stairs & Balustrades
Ellipsis can offer a wide range of unique glass balustrade design options that are specifically engineered to fit your individual needs and can be created in a variety of shapes, sizes, colours and types. They are extremely versatile and suitable for commercial or residential properties and their elegance is suited to contemporary or traditional tastes. They can create an illusion of unlimited space with frameless systems giving a seemingly floating staircase appearance, without interruption to its design.
Ellipsis provides of custom stainless posts, railings and clamps to suit all types of glass stairs, balustrades and balconies, with focus on both design and function.
Generally there are three different glass balustrade options that are available:
Post and rail system: Where the glass is used as an infill panel and held with clamps between steel or timber up-rights. Glass thickness generally tends to be 10mm toughened and can be supplied in both flat and curved applications.
Bolted system: Where the glass is free standing and held with fabricated stainless steel bolts through the floor. Glass thickness can be from 12mm toughened up to 19mm toughened or toughened laminated. Generally the glass needs to continue about 270mm below floor level where it is bolted into the floor material. It can be supplied in both flat and curved applications.
Clamped system: Where the glass is free standing and fixed into a channel at the floor. Glass thickness general tends to be 15mm-19mm toughened or toughened laminated, depending on the application or architects specification. It can be supplied in both flat and curved applications.
